The indigenous population in the Gers are known as the Gersois and live longer than anywhere else  in Europe . Why ? Partly due to the wonderfully clear air, cooking with duck fats and the tannins found in the rich warming Madiran wines. Without a doubt we must not fail to mention the Gers is the home of  Foie Gras and Armagnac.

Gascony, some times referred to as  the new Tuscany, is full of rustic charm, unspoilt by excessive tourism and industry. The Gascon sees very little traffic making it a pleasure to drive  and due to it rich fertile soils thrives on it's agriculture.

The Gers  is the least populated department in France and offers the ideal environment to relax and indulge in a much slower pace of life. During the days,  vivid fields of the brightest sunflowers, rolling hills and sparsely populated villages surrounded by hillside slopes of vines heavily laden with luscious grape.

During the evenings incredible sunsets against un-obscured horizons. Later, through clear skies a canopy of a myriad of stars and the finest detail of our universe.

Summers are long, sunny and hot. Late August brings short spells of the most exciting thunder and lightning storms over the Pyrenees. Winters barely begin before they are over. Even close to the mountains snow falls are rare and it is not unusual to dine outside on Christmas day
